I was recently hired as the pianist for a wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, held at the University Club in Pasadena, CA. Weddings are magical, and it was truly an honor to be asked to perform a selection of requested music that was used for each part of the wedding ceremony. Contributing to such an important day in two people’s lives is something I cherish, and I was so happy to get the tremendous feedback I received, both for the ceremony itself, and for the music I played before and after. Many of the guests went out of their way to compliment me on the style and selection of repertoire.
For this occasion, I was asked to play a selection of classic rock, jazz and contemporary music for the cocktail hour and for the after ceremony reception before dinner was served. For the ceremony itself, I played “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls, “Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, and “So Happy Together” by the Turtles. Such a perfect selection of music for a lovely young couple.
